The King’s Speech has continued its award-season sweep by taking home seven awards including Best Film and Outstanding British Film at the Orange British Academy Film Awards.
Stars Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham-Carter were all recognised by the BAFTAs, as was the film’s Original Screenplay and Score. The only major category in which The King’s Speech was snubbed was Best Director, where The Social Network‘s David Fincher proved victorious.
The Social Network also walked away with Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing.
Although his picture was trumped by The King’s Speech in the Outstanding British Film Category, Chris Morris picked up Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer for his suicide-bomber satire Four Lions.
