It’s well and truly school holidays time as the top 10 will show you this week. Disney’s Tangled sits comfortably at number two with an overall taking of just over $13 million – not too shabby.
It seems we love Cher a bit more than we’re willing to admit, with Burlesque in third, followed closely by The King’s Speech with an impressive result from only 117 screens.
The real dilemma here though is why The Dilemma is in the top 5, taking close to $1.5 million in its first week.
Meet The Parents: Little Fockers continues to charm audiences and while slipping to seven it’s close to taking $20 million total.
Speaking of bad movies (we kid!), Gulliver’s Travels posted another strong week and sits at eight, followed by Morning Glory and The Tourist to round out the top ten.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (why do these films need such long titles?) are still proving to be a popular choice for holiday entertainment along with Megamind, which is sitting at 13.
It’s good to see low budget film Blue Valentine at 16 and inching ever so closer to the $1 million total.
